LSPWCD monitors water rights within the South Platte basin primarily within the Water Court resume published each month for Water Division 1. The board determines each month whether or not to enter into water court cases as an objector based on the criteria of injury to its water rights along with other vested water rights within LSPWCD boundaries. LSPWCD’s goal is only to enter cases that it deems could enact material injury to water rights within the District and primarily seeks to settle based on terms and conditions that would prevent such injury.
